MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING OF NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN AREA LOCAL #2247

Date: Thursday, May 13th, 2026

Place: Perkins

Vice-President David Sass called the meeting to order at 6:34am.

A quorum was declared with 10 members in attendance.

David Sass led the Pledge of Allegiance and Steve Paradise gave the Invocation.

The following officers were present: Vice President David Sass, Secretary/Treasurer Molly Crevier, Maintenance Craft Director Samantha Fritz, Motor Vehicle Craft Director Clade Adkins, Bay Breeze Editor Bill Kabacinski, and Recording Secretary Emily Ewald. President Jennifer Ewald was excused.

Minutes of the April 2026 meeting Printed in the Bay Breeze. The April minutes were accepted as is. A motion was made by Steve Paradise and seconded by Clade Adkins to amend the March 2026 minutes, that honoree member should be changed to corresponding member. Motion passed.

The official financial report was read by Secretary/Treasurer Molly Crevier.

Executive Committee Report: Items discussed were ongoing issues with Jobs in the plant and posting them, the union picnic; we are hoping for a larger turnout, and we need to promote it to all the members, and parker johns will be catering it.

Labor/Management: Metting has yet to be held.

Safety/Health: Meeting has yet to be held.

Grievance: Grievances were filed on admin leave for the blizzard in small offices and is at step 3 for clerks in the plant. Grievance was filed on jobs not being posted in the plant and surrounding offices in a timely manner.

Committee Reports:

Legislative: APWU opposes the Paycheck Protection Act, it would prohibit unions from automatically deducting dues/fees from members paychecks.

OWCP:

Constitution: The Constitution committee is in the process of reviewing changes and should present changes at the next meeting.

A reminder that the Tony Van Scholarship is due July 25th, and the APWU has 2 scholarships available that are due May 31st.

Next Meeting:

A motion was made by Clade Adkins and seconded by Bill Kabacinski to have the next meeting on Sunday, June 14th at 2:30pm e-board, 3:00pm members at Gallaghers. Motion passed.

Adjournment

A motion was made by Steve Paradise and seconded by Molly Crevier to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 6:50am.

The $10 door prize was won by Molly Crevier.

The $220 jackpot winner was Ryan McCrary; member was not in attendance. Jackpot will be $240 at the next meeting.
