MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING OF NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN AREA LOCAL #2247

Date:  Tuesday, July 25th,2023

Place:  Denny’s

President Kelly Heaney called the meeting to order at 3 pm.

A quorum was declared with 15 members in attendance. 

Kelly Heaney led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bill Kabacinski gave the Invocation. 

The following officers were present:  President Kelly Heaney, Vice President Dave Kroll, Secretary/Treasurer Art Ciesielczyk, Recording Secretary Jenny Starry, Bay Breeze Editor Bill Kabacinski, Maintenance Craft Director Lance Bouyear, and Motor Vehicle Craft Director Clade Adkins, Clerk Craft Director Jenny Ewald was excused.

Minutes of the June 2023 meeting were printed in the Bay Breeze.  A motion was made by Clade Adkins and seconded by Dave Kroll to accept the minutes.  Motion passed. 

The financial report for June was read by Secretary/Treasurer Art Ciesielczyk.  

Executive Committee:  The e-board discussed Jeff G. taking over Step 2 grievances, the scholarship contest, and the election.

Labor/Management:  No items were brought up by labor.          

Grievance:  8 jobs were going to be reverted, a grievance was filed and was won.  Now unbid jobs will be reverted.             

Safety/Health:  Guards are being put up around the machines.                      

Legislative:                                              

OWCP:  If you get hurt, tell management, and file a claim right away.  Have witnesses if possible.  You must do a lot of your own paperwork.              

Constitution:      

New Members:  Italy Molina Gomez and must Stanislaw Arasimowicz

Lost Members:       

COMMUNICATIONS 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS  

The election was discussed.

NEW BUSINESS

A motion was made by Dave Kroll and seconded by Bill Kabacinski to invite union member carriers, union member mail handlers, and APWU members in Oshkosh, with donations accepted, to our union picnic on Sunday, August 6th.  Motion passed. 

A motion was made by Dave Kroll and seconded by Clade Adkins to purchase 10 family tickets for the Labor Day picnic.  Motion passed.

OTHER BUSINESS   

NEXT MEETING

A motion was made by Dave Kroll and seconded by Pam Krause to have the next meeting on Wednesday, September 20th at 7 pm at Gallagher’s.  Motion passed. 

ADJOURNMENT

A motion was made by Pam Krause and seconded by Clade Adkins to adjourn the meeting.  Motion passed.  Meeting was adjourned at 4:15 pm.  

The $10 door prize was won by Cindy Turritin.

The $300 rolling jackpot winner was Jenna Moesch.  She was not present so it will be $320 at the next meeting.
