MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING OF NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN AREA LOCAL #2247
Date: Sunday, June 14th, 2026
Place: Gallaghers
President Jennifer Ewald called the meeting to order at 3:05pm.
A quorum was declared with 15 members in attendance.
Jennifer Ewald led the Pledge of Allegiance and Steve Paradise gave the Invocation.
The following officers were present: President Jennifer Ewald, Vice President David Sass, Secretary/Treasurer Molly Crevier, Motor Vehicle Craft Director Clade Adkins, Bay Breeze Editor Bill Kabacinski, and Recording Secretary Emily Ewald. Maintenance Craft Director Samantha Fritz was excused.
Minutes of the May 2026 meeting were read by Recording Secretary Emily Ewald. The May minutes were accepted as is.
The official financial report was read by Secretary/Treasurer Molly Crevier.
Executive Committee Report: Items discussed were Molly’s intention of stepping down from Treasurer, and if anyone is interested in taking the position. The union Picnic; food and place are finalized, need help making carnival games, giving $10 gift card for homemade desserts, and doing the prize drawing at 2pm.
Labor/Management: Items discussed in Labor Management meeting were getting or losing machinery in the plant, DB 8 is gone but no plans on losing any more machines, the new floor plan layout is changing again for minor adjustments, the Sips machine is still planning on gaining more pockets. In the plant the 12.30 start times are going back to 13.00 start times, with no lunches. Some costumer service employees will have to do a rebid, Cofrin level 7 job is changing after July jobs come down. Repainting lines in the parking lot, there working on the PA system in the back, they have ordered more light bulbs, animosity between tours and management perpetuates it, the plant parking lot for employees is in the process of being replaced once a bid contract is accepted, acting MDO for tour 3 will be Logan, status for a gate phone to the VMF, Annual Leave calendar on each tour not updated at Cofrin, Hansen, or Downtown. All the AC units in the plant are working.
Safety/Health: No accidents or safety concerns.
President Jennifer Ewald handed out APWU Retired Members Certificates to the retired members present at the meeting.
Grievance: Grievances were filed on admin leave for the blizzard is at step 3 for clerks in the plant. Grievance was filed on jobs not being posted in the plant and surrounding offices in a timely manner, attendance, crossing crafts, overtime bypass, and displacement.
Committee Reports:
Legislative: APWU had a live video about the closing of offices and ways that you can help, they are also for the Federal Retirement Fairness Act, this allows you to buy back your time as a non-career employee. They also for the Shipping Equality Act.

Communications Report: The APWU is taking applications for the Fall 2026 Leadership Institute. The Oshkosh local is having a march on September 26th to help raise awareness about saving the post office. The Regional Coordinator is advising people to not use eLRA because it automatically signs your name when you use the online platform, it can also access your location when you use the program.

Other Business: Discussion was held on the new LLVs and what station is going to receive them; there are some at the Green Bay plant. They issue some are having is the new vehicles not being able to clear the garage doors.
Next Meeting time was being discussed, a motion was made by Clade Adkins and Seconded by David Sass to go back to other business. Motion passed.
A motion was made by David Sass and seconded by Clade Adkins to cancel the August 2026 union meeting because of the picnic. Motion passed.
Next Meeting:
A motion was made by Bill Kabacinski and seconded by Molly Crevier to have the next meeting on Tuesday, July 14th at 6:30pm e-board, 7:00pm members at Gallaghers. Motion passed.
Adjournment
A motion was made by Emily Piontek and seconded by Clade Adkins to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 3:55pm.
The $10 door prize was won by David Sass.
The $240 jackpot winner was Karilee Hookana; member was in attendance.
Jackpot will be $20 at the next meeting.
