MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING OF NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN AREA LOCAL #2247
Date: Wednesday, September 17th, 2025
Place: Gallagher’s
President Jenny Ewald called the meeting to order at 2:35pm.
A quorum was declared with 18 members in attendance.
Jenny Ewald led the Pledge of Allegiance and Bill Kabacinski gave the Invocation.
The following officers were present: President Jennifer Ewald, Vice President David Sass, Secretary/Treasurer Molly Crevier, Motor Vehicle Craft Director Clade Adkins, Maintenance Craft Director Samantha Fritz, Recording Secretary Emily Ewald, and Bay Breeze Editor Bill Kabacinski. Clerk Craft Director Sebastian Zeutzius was excused.
Minutes of the July 2025 meeting were printed in the Bay Breeze. A motion was made by David Sass and seconded by Bill Kabacinski to accept the minutes. Motion passed.
The official financial report was read by Secretary/Treasurer Molly Crevier.
Executive Committee: A unanimous vote was made by the e-bored to have Emily Piontek sit in the e-board meeting as she is the election chair. The e-board discussed officer pay, reimbursement for LM class, and new computers.
Labor/Management: Items discussed were if additional programs or machines are being taken out of the plant, cancelers are being run at 7am now, 545 and 544 mail is not being processed and sent to Milwaukee, not excessing employees, no plans to remove any more automated equipment, the floor plan of the plant is going to change to accommodate the new machine, it’s on dely. Clerks not getting out of schedule pay, overtime for customer service, who is supposed to supervise the window when main supervisor is not there, drivers being put into lunch in ERMs but working through their lunches, drivers stopped picking up empty equipment from the VMF, no lunch policy not being applied equally across every tour.
Safety/Health: Items discussed were first responder class, first aid response kit needed to be restocked, AC unit repair for the back section of the plant, lighting in the building needing updating, men’s restroom status, protocol for power outages, update on fire and tornado drills, intercom system not working in the back.
Grievance: Grievances were filed on maintenance overtime bypass, and line H coming up, crossing crafts, undesirable duty assignment, clerk overtime bypass, and discipline cases.
Legislative: Ballots for National Officers should be sent to members.
OWCP: Someone hurt back at work and did not file incident report. Even if you think its not a bad accident, file an incident report every time.
Constitution: Emily Piontek is the chair for the election committee.
New Members:
Lost Members: Dale Groh, Opal Watson, Myarie Ivy
Communications: The e-bored recommends that we fix the officer pay, reimburse Jennifer Ewald and Molly Crevier for training, new computers for the union, and change the standing order of business to take nominations for the election.

NEW BUSINESS
A motion was made by David Sass and seconded by Sue Pranke to reimburse Molly Crevier and Jennifer Ewald for 8 hours of lost time for the LM class they attended on September 3rd. Motion passed.
A motion was made by David Sass and seconded by Molly Crevier to adjust the pay to e-bored, which is Craft Directors and vice president, receive $120 per month, Chief stewards receive $70 per month and in the absent of a chief steward the craft director would receive the pay, along with receiving $60 per meeting they attend including stewards. Motion passed.
A motion was made by David Sass and seconded by Clade Adkins to purchase 3 computers for the union hall. Motion was tabled.
A motion was made by David Sass and seconded by Clade Adkins to change the standing order of business to include the election committee to take nominations. Motion Passed
The floor was given to Election Committee Chairperson Emily Piontek to take nominations.
For the position of President: Jennifer Ewald was nominated.
For the position of Vice-President: David Sass was nominated.
For the position of Secretary Treasurer: Molly Crevier and Art Ciesielczyk were nominated.
For the position of Recording Secretary: Emily Ewald and Angela Johnson were nominated.
For the position of Editor: Bill Kabacinski was nominated.
For the position of Clerk Craft Director: Sebastian Zeutzius, Christine Bouyear, Michaelanglo Monterro, and Pamela Roland were nominated.
For the position of Motor Vehicle Craft Director: Clade Adkins and Pamela Krause were nominated.
For the office of Maintenance Craft Director: Samantha Fritz, Lance Bouyear and Art Ciesielczyk were nominated.
OTHER BUSINESS
NEXT MEETING
A motion was made by Emily Piontek and seconded by Samantha Fritz to have the next meeting on Thursday, October, 16th at 2:00 e-bored, 2:30 members at to Gallagher’s. Motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Beth Detri and seconded by Clade Adkins to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. Meeting was adjourned at 3:58pm.
The $10 door prize was won by Tim Ellenich.
The $320 jackpot winner was Beth Detrie. Member was in attendance. Jackpot will be $100 at the next meeting.
The two winners of the $25 postal pulse survey are Donna Hansen and Jackie Kudick.
